With Thanksgiving behind us, we are now 2 weeks into the liturgical season of Advent.  A time when many people are rushing about shopping for Christmas gifts to give loved ones. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word Advent refers to the 4 Sundays before Christmas.  It is a prayerful and sometimes fasting period of time when Christians prepare for the celebrated day of Christ’s birth (Christmas). 

Do enjoy the beautiful holiday decorations that are all around, but don’t forget to reflect on the real reason for the season.  Like the Christmas Carol Joy to the World says, remember Let every heart prepare Him room.
