Leaves

I'll never understand why people wait to be prompted to "do the right thing."

I was raking my leaves curbside for pickup when a young couple and their children walked by.  I had made two neat piles of leaves in front of my house.  As the family came up the street they passed several piles of leaves that had been raked and were waiting for pick up and had left them undisturbed. It wasn't until the family passed my home that one of their children came up and put her foot into one of the piles of leaves I had raked and was about to jump in them and make a mess.   When her mom saw me looking in disapproval, she called to the child not to mess up the neat pile of leaves that the lady had made.

I only have one thing to say about the matter, remember the second great commandment Jesus told the scribe, Love thy neighbor as thyself. Mark 12:31.
