"Resurrection"

Isaiah 55:9 tells us that God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.  If we read the bible we see time and time again how God will “resurrect” an individual after he/she has gone through a severe test or trial.

Look in Genesis at the story of Joseph.  He was cast into a pit by his brothers, sold off as a slave, lied on and sent to prison for many years before being released an becoming the 2nd highest person of power in Egypt.

How about Job who lost his children, was stripped of all his worldly possessions and then stricken boils which caused unbearable pain in his body.  However, at the end of the story, he was restored and given more than he had previously lost.

Finally, look at Jesus’ life.  Born into humble beginnings, betrayed by those who were closest to him, lied on and misunderstood by the very people (religious leaders/teachers – Pharisees and Sadducees) who supposedly had studied and knew the bible, crucified for having done nothing wrong, except to show God’s love and forgiveness and finally, buried in a borrowed grave. On Easter Sunday however, He rose from the grave victoriously with all power in His hands.

In each scenario, the individual had to “go through the fire” and suffer humiliation, great physical pain, and poverty before being “resurrected” by Almighty God and elevated to a high place.

As we go through the trials and tribulations of this life, let us (not forget) that our Lord and Savior went through worst for us when he died at Calvary.  Instead, remember that God has promised never to leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and if we keep the faith until the end, He will “resurrect” us out of our situation.

Rejoice and be glad for He has risen!

Happy Resurrection Day!
