Returns

Christmas is over and after-Christmas shopping and exchanges are at an all-time high.  But during this time I wanted to make note of the word   RETURN.

When you think of returning something to the store it might be because you don’t like the color, or the size/fit of the item may be wrong or maybe because you already have the item at home.  Regardless of the reason, we as humans return things to suit our needs not the need of the giver.

Humor me and ask yourself this question, “What if God returned me because I sinned?” or let me put it another way, “What if God returned me because He didn’t like what I said or did on any particular day?” Boy, hell would probably be fuller than it already is.

Isn’t it wonderful that even when we make mistakes and go against what God has spelled out in his Word (knowingly or unknowingly) that He doesn’t return us to our “pre-saved” state?

The Word tells us in Romans 3:23, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  God simply asks us to repent, sin no more and return to our rightful fellowship with Him.

So the one thing that we could return is our love and devotion to Him.

Blessings!
