Snow
If you live anywhere along the East Coast you are probably still digging out from the blizzard of 2016 which started on the evening of Friday, January 22nd and went through until Sunday, January 24th. Somewhere in the middle of the storm (between shoveling) I remembered going outside and looking up at the sky. As I watched the snowflakes swirling like dancers through the air and later descending gracefully onto the ground, I thought to myself that this might have been what Manna might have looked like.
I remembered the story of the Israelites who led by Moses had crossed the Red Sea and were now on their way to the “Promised Land” without any food and saw a white substance falling from the sky. And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. (Exodus 16:31).
While on their journey, God provided Manna from heaven to feed them. Isn’t this like God to care for the needs of His people? Fast-forward to now during the aftermath of the blizzard. While the massive amount of snow may be a pain in the butt to shovel and may make travel challenging, keep in mind that the journey that God took the Children of Israel on was a difficult one too, but just like He took care of them, He will also take care of you if you keep the faith.
